Beijing Daxing Airport Arrivals

Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) handles arrivals in a single terminal, so there is no inter-terminal transfer to worry about when you land. This page shows the live arrivals board, then walks through what happens between the aircraft door and the taxi rank: immigration, baggage claim, customs, and the four ways into Beijing with current journey times and fares.

Live Beijing Daxing Airport arrivals board

The board below lists scheduled and actual landing times for the next few hours, with the operating airline, the flight number and the origin city. It refreshes on its own, so it is worth checking again shortly before you leave for the airport: at PKX the difference between the scheduled and the actual time is most often 10 to 30 minutes.

If a flight has disappeared from the board, it has already landed. Arrivals stay listed for a limited time after touchdown, which is normal and not a sign that the flight was cancelled.

After you land: the arrivals process step by step

PKX separates arriving and departing passengers on different floors — two levels are given to departures and two to arrivals — so once you leave the aircraft you will not cross paths with check-in queues. The sequence is the same for every international flight:

1. Walk to immigration. The terminal is shaped like a starfish with five passenger concourses radiating from a central hall. No gate is more than 600 metres from the centre, which is about an eight-minute walk, and China’s longest moving walkways cover much of that distance.
2. Health and arrival formalities. Follow the signs; staff hand out the Arrival/Departure Card where one is needed.
3. Passport control. Foreign nationals use the counters for visitors; fingerprints are taken at the booth for most first-time arrivals.
4. Baggage claim. The terminal has 63 baggage carousels; screens above the belts show your flight number.
5. Customs. Nothing to declare means the green channel and a walk straight through. Bags may still be X-rayed.
6. Arrivals hall. Beyond customs you reach the public hall, with the ground transportation centre directly below the terminal.

Allow roughly 45 to 60 minutes from touchdown to the arrivals hall on an international flight, and 20 to 30 minutes on a domestic one. Wide-body flights landing at the same time as several others can push that past an hour, so if someone is meeting you, ask them not to time the pickup to the landing minute.

Immigration and the 240-hour visa-free transit

Travellers from 55 eligible countries can enter without a visa for up to 240 hours — ten days. You need a valid passport, proof of onward travel with a confirmed seat, and a visa for your third-country destination if that country requires one. On arrival, head to immigration and complete the Arrival/Departure Card to be given the transit entry. The permission covers 24 participating provinces and municipalities, which is most of eastern and central China, so a Beijing arrival does not tie you to Beijing.

Baggage claim, customs and delayed luggage

Carousels are numbered and assigned per flight; the screens above them are in Chinese and English. Trolleys are free. If a bag does not appear, do not leave the baggage hall before reporting it — the airline’s baggage desk sits inside the hall, and a report filed there is what starts the search. Take a photograph of your baggage tag before you hand the case over at departure; it makes the claim quicker.

Customs uses the usual two-channel system. Cash above the declaration threshold, commercial quantities of goods, plants, meat and dairy all belong in the red channel. Duty-free purchases made on arrival are bought after customs, not before.

What is in the arrivals area

• Wi-Fi. The airport runs a 5G network built for up to 100,000 simultaneous users. Connect by SMS code, or verify your passport at a self-service kiosk if you have no Chinese number yet.
• SIM cards. Sold inside the terminal. Buying one on arrival saves you setting up roaming before the trip.
• Information counters. Staffed desks — the airport calls the staff Airport Ambassadors — answer transport and terminal questions in English.
• ATMs and currency exchange. Available in the public hall. Note that most day-to-day payments in Beijing are made by phone, so see our notes on setting up Alipay as a foreigner.
• Food and shops. Open landside as well as airside; the facilities and services page lists what to expect where.
• The gardens. Five traditional Chinese gardens sit at the ends of the concourses — a quiet place to wait if you are early for a pickup.

Getting from arrivals into Beijing

Everything leaves from the ground transportation centre beneath the terminal, so you do not need to go outdoors to reach the trains. Current options:

Meeting someone at PKX arrivals

Arriving passengers all come out into the public arrivals hall, and that is where to wait — the concourses themselves are behind security. Drivers cannot wait at the kerb for long; the short-stay car parks are the practical option, and the parking page covers rates. Arriving late at night

The last intercity train to Beijing West leaves at 20:56, and the metro stops earlier than the city lines you may be used to. A late landing therefore usually means a taxi, a pre-booked transfer, or a night at the airport. Tips for a smooth arrival at Daxing

• Have your onward ticket ready on your phone if you are entering visa-free — immigration asks to see it.
• Fill in the arrival card while you queue rather than at the counter.
• Set up a phone payment app before the trip, or buy a SIM in the arrivals hall; cash is accepted but increasingly awkward.
• Screenshot your hotel address in Chinese characters. Taxi drivers rarely read Latin script.
• If your flight is a connection, check which airline operates the next leg — the airline list shows who flies from PKX and where each carrier checks in.
