PKX Airport Guide respects copyright. If you own material that appears on this site without your permission, this page explains how to ask us to remove it, what we do when a notice arrives, and how to object if your material was taken down by mistake.

Before you file a notice

Many complaints are quicker to settle without a formal notice. If the problem is a missing or incorrect image credit, a plain message through our contact page is enough — we add the attribution or remove the image, usually the same week. Our photo credits page lists where our images come from.

Use the formal procedure below when you want the material removed and you want a record of the request.

How to file a copyright takedown notice

Send a written notice that includes all of the following. A notice missing any of these elements may not be actionable, and we may come back to you for the missing part:

  1. Identification of the work. Describe the copyrighted work you say has been infringed. If several works are involved, a representative list is enough.
  2. Identification of the material on our site. Give the exact address of each page, and enough detail to locate the material on it — which photograph, which paragraph, which file.
  3. Your contact details. Name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  4. A good-faith statement that you believe the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement of accuracy, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
  6. Your signature, physical or electronic.

Where to send it

Email the notice to [email protected] with “Copyright notice” in the subject line, or use our contact page. Email reaches us fastest.

What happens after a valid notice

  • We acknowledge receipt.
  • We remove or disable access to the material identified in the notice, usually within a few working days of accepting it as valid.
  • Where the material appears in more than one language version of the same page, we remove it from all sixteen — our pages are translations of one another, so a takedown that touched only English would leave fifteen copies standing.
  • We keep a record of the notice and of what we removed.

Removing material is not an admission that the complaint is well founded. It is the step the law expects of us while the question is settled.

Counter-notification

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake — for example the use was licensed, or it was fair use, or the complainant does not hold the rights — you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It should include:

  1. Identification of the material that was removed and the address where it appeared.
  2. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of an appropriate court, and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
  5. Your signature, physical or electronic.

We pass a valid counter-notice to the original complainant. If they do not tell us within a reasonable period that they have started court proceedings, we may restore the material.

Repeat infringers and abuse of the process

We do not host user-uploaded content, so there are no accounts to terminate. Where a supplier of material to this site is the subject of repeated valid notices, we stop using that supplier.

A notice filed in bad faith carries its own consequences: knowingly making a material misrepresentation in either a notice or a counter-notice can make you liable for the other side’s costs and damages. Please be sure you hold the rights before you file.

About the content on this site

PKX Airport Guide is an independent guide, not operated by or affiliated with Beijing Daxing International Airport or any airline. Airline names, codes and logos are used to identify the carriers we describe; how we obtain and license images is set out on our photo credits page, and how the pages are researched and written on our editorial policy page.

Notice and takedown FAQ

Do I need a lawyer to send a takedown notice?
No. A notice you write yourself is valid as long as it contains the six elements listed above, including the statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury and your signature.
How quickly do you remove material?
We acknowledge notices on receipt and normally remove or disable the material within a few working days of accepting the notice as valid. If a notice is incomplete we will come back to you rather than let it sit.
My photograph is on your site and I only want credit, not removal.
Then a formal notice is unnecessary — write to us through the contact page, say which page and which image, and we will add the attribution your licence requires. Removal is also available if you prefer it.
Will you remove the material from the other language versions too?
Yes. Each of our pages exists in sixteen languages, and a takedown is applied to all of them, not only to the address named in the notice.
