About Hunnu Air
Hunnu Air is a private Mongolian airline founded in 2011, named after the Xiongnu confederation that ruled the steppe two thousand years ago. It operates a small fleet on regional routes from Ulaanbaatar, competing with the state carrier MIAT.
Mongolia's aviation market is thin — a country of three million people spread over an area the size of Western Europe — so frequencies are modest and seasonal demand swings are sharp.

Planning your trip
At Beijing Daxing, Hunnu Air checks in at Level 4 departures (international). Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure on domestic flights and 45 minutes before departure on international ones — Daxing is a large building, and the walk from check-in to a far gate is a real part of your timing.

- The Trans-Mongolian railway is the classic alternative — around 30 hours from Beijing.
- Ulaanbaatar's new airport is roughly 50 km from the city, so allow for the transfer.
