Hebei Airlines (NS/HBH) — regional carrier from China, based at Shijiazhuang Zhengding (SJW), not an alliance member.

About Hebei Airlines

Hebei Airlines is a regional carrier based in Shijiazhuang, the capital of the province that surrounds Beijing. It was formed in 2010 out of an earlier cargo operation and became part of the HNA group, flying a mixed Airbus A320 and Embraer E190 fleet.

Its purpose is connecting mid-sized inland cities to the coast and to Beijing — a network of thin routes that would not support a larger aircraft.

Close to twenty domestic destinations from Daxing, almost all of them provincial: Guyuan, Longnan, Jinchang, Qingyang, Zhalantun, Zunyi. These are places with one or two flights a day at most, and Hebei Airlines is frequently the only carrier serving them from Beijing.

Planning your trip

At Beijing Daxing, Hebei Airlines checks in at Departures level 4. Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure on domestic flights and 45 minutes before departure on international ones — Daxing is a large building, and the walk from check-in to a far gate is a real part of your timing.

  • Small airports at the far end often have very limited facilities — eat before you fly.
  • Frequencies are thin, and the E190 is a small aircraft. Weather cancellations are harder to rebook around.
  • Shijiazhuang is under an hour from Beijing by high-speed rail, which sometimes beats connecting through it.

Getting to the airport takes planning of its own: the Daxing Airport Express and the intercity railway are the fastest options from central Beijing, with taxis and private transfers as the door-to-door alternatives. The airport guide covers terminal layout, security and what is open landside.
