About Donghai Airlines
Donghai Airlines began in 2002 as a cargo operator in Shenzhen and only added scheduled passenger flights in 2014, which is unusual — most Chinese carriers went the other way. It flies Boeing 737s, including the MAX, on a low-cost passenger model while keeping a freight arm.
Shenzhen, its base, is the manufacturing and tech hub next to Hong Kong, and much of the airline's traffic follows that business.

Three Daxing routes: Shenzhen on the main business corridor, plus Yichang in Hubei and Changzhi in Shanxi — two smaller cities where it faces little competition from Beijing. The Shenzhen flight is the one with meaningful frequency.

Planning your trip
At Beijing Daxing, Donghai Airlines checks in at Departures level 4. Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure on domestic flights and 45 minutes before departure on international ones — Daxing is a large building, and the walk from check-in to a far gate is a real part of your timing.
- Baggage is charged separately on most fares; check the allowance before you get to the airport.
- Shenzhen Bao'an is a practical back door to Hong Kong via the Futian or Huanggang crossings.
- Changzhi and Yichang are thin routes — a cancellation there is a next-day problem, not a next-flight one.
