About China Southern Airlines
China Southern is the largest airline in Asia by fleet size and passengers carried, based in Guangzhou. It left SkyTeam on 1 January 2019 and has been unaligned since, working instead through bilateral partnerships — a detail that matters if you are counting on alliance status for lounges or baggage through-checking.
Daxing was designed with China Southern as one of its two anchor tenants, and the airline moved its entire Beijing operation across from Capital when the airport opened. Unlike Air China, it does not split its Beijing flying between two airports, so a China Southern flight to Beijing means PKX.

Planning your trip
At Beijing Daxing, China Southern Airlines checks in at Departures level 4. Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure on domestic flights and 45 minutes before departure on international ones — Daxing is a large building, and the walk from check-in to a far gate is a real part of your timing.
- No alliance means no automatic reciprocal lounge or through-baggage — confirm both when connecting onto another airline.
- Central Asian and Middle Eastern routes are among the few non-stop options from Beijing, and they sell out well ahead in summer.
- Its Beijing flights are all at PKX, so an old itinerary quoting Capital for China Southern is out of date.
