About Chengdu Airlines
Chengdu Airlines is majority-owned by COMAC, China's state aircraft manufacturer, and that ownership defines it: the airline was the launch operator of the domestically-built ARJ21 regional jet and remains its largest user. Alongside the ARJ21 it flies Airbus A320s on mainline routes.
It is based in Sichuan and serves the southwest, with Beijing as one of its trunk connections.

A single Daxing route, to Chengdu Shuangliu. Note that Chengdu has two airports and this one is the older, closer-in field — Tianfu, the newer international airport, is served from PKX by other carriers. Getting the wrong one is a common and expensive mistake on this city pair.

Planning your trip
At Beijing Daxing, Chengdu Airlines checks in at Departures level 4. Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure on domestic flights and 45 minutes before departure on international ones — Daxing is a large building, and the walk from check-in to a far gate is a real part of your timing.
- Shuangliu (CTU) is the in-town airport; Tianfu (TFU) is roughly 70 km from the centre. Check your ticket.
- You may find yourself on an ARJ21 — a small regional jet with limited overhead bin space.
- Sichuan weather causes summer delays on this route more often than the schedule suggests.
