AirAsia X is the long-haul arm of the AirAsia group, flying Airbus A330s on routes too far for the A320s of its short-haul sister. It pioneered low-cost long-haul in Asia and, unlike most who tried the model, is still flying it.
The cabin has a premium flat-bed section alongside economy, but the fare logic is unchanged: meals, baggage and seat selection are extras on both.

Planning your trip
At Beijing Daxing, AirAsia X checks in at Level 4 departures (international). Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure on domestic flights and 45 minutes before departure on international ones — Daxing is a large building, and the walk from check-in to a far gate is a real part of your timing.
