About Air Macau

Air Macau is the flag carrier of the Macau Special Administrative Region, founded in 1994 and flying an all-Airbus A320-family fleet from Macau International Airport. Air China holds the controlling stake, which is why its network leans heavily towards mainland Chinese cities.

For most of its history its role has been the bridge between Macau and the mainland, at a time when direct links across the strait were politically constrained. Today it competes with the ferry and the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge on short-haul traffic and with the mainland majors on longer routes.

Air Macau flights from Beijing Daxing

Macau from Daxing. Although Macau is Chinese territory, the flight is handled as an international sector: you pass immigration in both directions and use the Level 4 international departures area at PKX. Flight time is a little over three hours.

Air Macau serves one destination from PKX: Macau.

Route lists change with the summer and winter schedules, and frequencies change more often than that. For the flights operating today, check the live arrivals and departures boards.

Planning your trip

At Beijing Daxing, Air Macau checks in at Level 4 departures (international). Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure on domestic flights and 45 minutes before departure on international ones — Daxing is a large building, and the walk from check-in to a far gate is a real part of your timing.

  • Immigration applies in both directions — check-in closes 45 minutes before departure, not 30.
  • Mainland travellers need an Exit-Entry Permit for Macau; most foreign passports get visa-free entry, but confirm for yours.
  • Macau's airport is small and close to the Cotai casinos — transfers are short and cheap compared with most Chinese cities.

Getting to the airport takes planning of its own: the Daxing Airport Express and the intercity railway are the fastest options from central Beijing, with taxis and private transfers as the door-to-door alternatives. The airport guide covers terminal layout, security and what is open landside.
